Best Dance Shoes

I just returned from the new movie "Step Up" and wondered what other dancers thought about the presentation. I really liked how the final presentation, the Senior Recital, was a combination of lyrical and hip hop. I noticed that Danskin was one of the sponsors. What other dance apparel or dance shoe companies were involved?

Where did Tyler, the male lead, come from? Was he a street dancer turned actor? He played a great role and can really dance. Nora, the girl lead, is a great dancer too. Are dance academies like the one they were at really common in the east? or in the west?
